Blurt will return to sarcasm tomorrow.
Today, on behalf of a dear little girl and her heroic folks, I am going to ask you to eat ice cream on Thursday next Thursday, September 24.
Jennifer O’Toole is someone I hired right out of college. Yes, you read that correctly, I hired. I’m actually quite responsible. Stop laughing and keep reading.
You know, I didn’t even make it through three sentences without sarcasm. I am powerless against it. Keep reading.
Jennifer gave her voice to people who were powerless. She changed and saved lives with her passion and tireless advocacy during the time we worked together. Her husband, John, serves our community as a well respected police officer in a very challenged area.
Jennifer and John’s journey with their daughter, Maura, defies my power to describe it so I’ll point you at their blog for details.
They forwarded me a link for a fundraiser for the Make A Wish program at Cold Stone Creamery. Free Ice Cream, in exchange for donations to Make A Wish.
Don’t know Make A Wish? You should. Look here.
You know, you’ve lost a lot of weight recently. You look good. Treat yourself to some ice cream. In fact, you could probably get a date to go with you. Ask someone good looking, with disposable income. When you go, live it up. Order extra sprinkles, you’re doing something nice.
Also, I know many of my fellow bloggers have large Twitter followings. Please consider Tweeting the Cold Stone charity link out and lets see if we can help out Make A Wish for my friends, the O’Toole’s.
(I’ve got your back Cuk, march on)

Thanks for letting us know. (According to Cold Stone’s website, it’s next Thursday, not this one.)
Oh wow, thank you!
See, they put it on there in English to fool me. One week from Thursday…September 24th is the date of the event.
Also, I don’t ‘tweet,’ but I’ll be happy to put up a post about the event.
No need to thank me! After reading about what Maura and her family have gone through, and reading/crying at the kids’ stories on the Make a Wish website…how could I not want to try to get the word out?
Nope. I’m standing by it. Thank you!
