That looks like it was taken from Jersey City. I miss those towers.
Probably so. My grandparents lived in Hoboken at the time. I don’t think there was anyplace there where the buildings were oriented to this way.
Love this photo
Thank you. Pretty sure my dad is the photographer. He’s the only one not in the shot.
UTZA!!
There he is!
What a wonderful picture. Funny how those older film pictures have such a gripping quality. I was just thinking how 911 happened without Facebook, Twitter, Four Corners, and wide spread instant video and pictures. . .
You know, I think those things would’ve made things worse. There is something about the old prints, isn’t there? The whole presence is different.
Totally haunting photo.
One of those shots taken with no idea what the significance would be later.
The young Oma-boy. Very nice photo.
Got my Chucks on. I’m cool.
Awesome photo. What’s so interesting in Mom’s purse??
I don’t know, that’s my brother. He might have needed ketchup or salt.
Oh, gosh, you’re the one in the Chuck’s? You had good taste even back then!
Haven’t had any in years. Been thinking about some red ones.
Nice photo and perfect use of a Wordless Wednesday. You have good timing.
Amazing how often you watch an older movie or tv show and immediately notice the towers in the shot.
Exactly – I never noticed them before 9/11, now my eye is drawn to the gaping hole.
